Exam Results - S4

SQA exams 2025

This has been our best exam performance to date - we have out-performed all previous years across S4, S5 and S6.

Here are our S4 results for 2025 organised in band of the lowest 20% attainers, the middle 60% and the top 20% attainers. This graph compares our average tariff points (orange), which are the points awarded for passing exams at different levels.  You can see this orange band compared to:

  • Virtual Comparator (grey) - where The Scottish Government thinks we should be
  • Perth & Kinross Council average (blue)
  • Scottish national average (red)

You can see that for our lowest and highest attainers we are well above where Scot Gov expects us to be, our middle 60% are very slightly below this expectation, and we are above PKC average and national average in all measures.

Lowest attaining 20% of S4

Here are our trends from the lowest attaining 20% of pupils in S4, over the last four years. Again, keep your eye on the orange bars in each year. It can be clearly seen that we have been on a improving trend, with this year's results being much better than all previous years. Again, within this bracket in 2025 we are:

  • outperforming where Scot Gov thinks we should be
  • outperforming the Perth & Kinross average
  • outperforming the national average

This means that we are giving our more modest attainers the best chance at success when they leave school by equipping them with more qualifications than they might normally have had.

Middle attaining 60% of S4

Here are our trends from the middle attaining 60% of pupils in S4, over the last four years. Again, keep your eye on the orange bars in each year. Again, it can be clearly seen that we have been on a improving trend, with this year's results being better than all previous years. Again, within this bracket in 2025 we are:

  • Slightly behind where Scot Gov thinks we should be
  • outperforming the Perth & Kinross average
  • outperforming the national average

We have plans in place to increase the attainment of this group of pupils to edge above the Virtual Comparitor (grey bar), but the middle attaining 60% of S4 pupils are still getting a very good experience at Bertha Park High.

Top attaining 20% of S4

Here are our trends for the past four years for the top attaining 20% of pupils in S4. You can clearly see that, for the past three of those years our top attaining S4 pupils:

  • outperformed where the Scottish Government thinks we should be
  • outperformed the Perth & Kinross average
  • outperformed the national average

Particularly in 2025, the performance of our top attaining S4 pupils was significantly higher than all other measures. This means that these pupils are achieving better than others of the same age across the country. They are in a very good position to attain well at Higher level and line themselves up for applications for Further Education (college), Higher Education (university) or employment.
